Please note that some degree pathways may require CHEM1111 to satisfy your degree progression. CHEM1111 does require some High School / Secondary level chemistry (e.g. the HSC, IB or equivalent). If you are unsure or concerned about this, please contact the unit coordinator to discuss your options (chemistry.firstyear@sydney.edu.au). Additionally, if you do later decide to undertake CHEM2 or CHEM3 units, we would be happy to have you and will recommend some summer content/study to cover the difference between this unit and its mainstream equivalent (CHEM1111). You will also be allowed to transfer into our second first-year chemistry mainstream unit (CHEM1112) if you achieve a grade of over 75 in CHEM1011.
