Bei ihrer Nutzung gibt es kein unkalkulierbares Gefahrenpotenzial und kein Endlagerproblem wie z. B. bei der Nutzung von Atomkraft. Zu den erneuerbaren Energien gehören Sonnenenergie, Wasserkraft, Wind, Erdwärme und Biomasse (aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen).
