Physics 1 Hon - Bowles - p06/p07 Unit 8: Waves - Formula Test

Short answer

A ray of light is travelling upward through a transparent medium 1 and strikes a boundary with medium 2 at an angle of 21.7 degrees. The ray then refracts within medium 2 at an angle of 30.4.  If the speed of light in medium 1 is 1.8 x 108 m/s, what is the index of refraction of medium 2? Do not assume medium 2 is air based on the figure.
